Koshka Co. got its name as the synthesis of many aspects of my life’s purpose. Its Russian language origin is a nod to the years I spent in college studying modern Russian history and human resilience. The word, “Koshka,” translates to both “cat” and “coastal sandbar,” the perfect combination of my dedication to animal welfare and the four generations of the Guardino family hydrology business.
Koshka Co. was founded for the earth and all its inhabitants.
About Krista
My home is in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, where I spend at least an hour of every day outside, 365 days a year. Nature is the source of inspiration and purpose in my career, helping resource management agencies and ecologically minded businesses navigate the often harsh realities of working on and protecting this big blue rock we all inhabit. I have more than a decade of experience creating useful learning materials for higher education and teaching communication. I ensure that every client, regardless of why they’ve engaged with me, deeply understands why the processes we are using work and can take that knowledge with them. I spent the past four years specializing in strategic planning and supporting leadership teams.
Stories of human development and resilience inspired me to study history at the University of California, Berkeley. I have worked with Silicon Valley tech start-ups, family-owned businesses, and National Parks around the country. Disrupters have a special place in my heart. I love to work with the people and organizations who refuse to accept the adage, “That’s just how things are,” and dare to believe in change.
